#circular reference

Hi everyone,

I am still learning the way of smartsheet but I do feel that I have a good general understanding of how it works. I am currently struggling with a circular reference that just wont go away. Well sometimes it does.

Here is what happens: I have 2 sheets one sheet is called controls and the other sheet is a summary of all the controls and how they contribute to the business. The circular reference error occurs in my summary sheet when a new control is added. Everything will be fine in the summary sheet with no errors but then the moment after I add a control (using a form) it causes the circular reference error in the summary sheet.

And how I have fixed it every time up till now is by simply deleting on of my calculations in a single cell on the summary sheet and refreshing the sheet after saving. Then I simply paste in the exact same formula in the cell I deleted it from; save and refresh and then everything is fine. I don't understand how and why this happens? Can someone please explain to me why this happens? This error indicates to me that my formulas are not a problem but are only unhappy when a new control is added.

Hope you are fine, Please add a copy of your sheet or a screenshot (after removing or replacing any sensitive information). This will make it easier for me to provide the appropriate answer to your question.

Or if you like me to fix the formula directly on your sheet please share me as an admin on a sample copy of your sheets ( Source & Destination ) and i will Create the exact formula for you then you can copy it to your original sheet.

Can you describe your process in more detail and maybe share the sheet(s)/copies of the sheet(s) or some screenshots? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, andree@workbold.com)
