Anyone saw this error before when trying to add more than 4 columns and 5 rows?
"Selected data cannot be charted"
Thank you all!
It isn't so much a size limit but a data type limit. You will need to double check the source data and make sure all columns (except for the first "label" column) contain actual numeric values.
Hi @A Rose
Is it possible that all the columns/rows you selected were of text values instead of having numerical values?
Charts require the data to be formatted and turned into numerical values before they can use that data in a visual way. For example, if you have a column with statuses listed out ("Not Started", "In Progress", "Complete") and you wanted the Chart to display a Bar Graph with a number for each of these, you would be able to select the text column as the source.
The first step would be to either create a COUNTIF formula to count each value or use a Report to Group and Summarize your data. Then you can use these numbers in a chart. Does that make sense?
Would you be able to post a screen capture of your current set-up that you're looking to chart (but please block out sensitive data)?
Hi @Genevieve P. @Paul Newcome ,
It includes the first column that cantains the data description,
then all data in the other columns to the right are data columns (vlookups etc.)
Am I doind anything wrong?
It used to work theb suddenly stopped.
@A Rose You are going to want to double check that the data the VLOOKUPs are pulling is in fact numerical values.
Yes all is numerical, some are % some are SUM.
Is this a Sheet or a Report? If it's a Report, are you using Grouping and Summary in your Report?
It's a sheet @Genevieve P
It wasn't working, suddenly working again.
I'm wondering if there is a way to lock rows 1-12 out of the sorting and filtering of a sheet. I might have take out that part of the from otherwise I dont like how the built in dashboard moves when a sort or filter is applied?
Hello, I apologize if this has already been answered, I did search before asking. I recently downloaded a template and it had the google slides displayed in presentation mode. I cannot figure out how to do this as when I embed, it's just the entire google page where you can edit and see the menu bar. How do I embed the…
