Can you extend beyond 400 columns per sheet?

I wanted to check whether there was an option (via early adopters program? to extend beyond 400 columns in a sheet? I cannot find a reference to that specifically but my colleague recalls seeing something related so I wonder if there is anything available?

There currently is not a way to extend beyond 400 columns.
