How to answer directly to Commenter ?

Hi,

there are some comments that the people write down, and then simply leave the discussion - never come back to the same discussion ... but when someone write the comment, requestor or other people might have additional questions related to that comment, but the commenter does not get it any more ...

so, is there a way to sort out this situation ?

this also flags the questions as answered, and no more waiting for answer, so the attention, and eventual solution (right answer) does not come, as many people think it is already answered ...

You can @ people in comments which will send their account a notification that you could use to get back to the conversation in question.

Are you referring to conversations in the Smartsheet Application, or here in the Community?

Here in the Community, you can adjust your notification settings in order to be alerted whenever anyone comments on a post you've also been active on. Go to your Profile in the top right, then click on Edit Profile.

In the left menu you can select Notification Preferences to configure when you'd like to receive email notifications. It sounds like you'll want to turn on notifications for "notify me when people comment on discussions I've participated in".

I agree with @Parker Oxford that the best way to ensure you're sending an alert to other people in a conversation is to @ mention them, as you won't know what notification preferences they have set in their own account.

Then in regards to Posts no longer showing as needing answers, the original poster of the question will see the option to mark each comment as either answering the question or not by clicking "Yes/No":

Clicking "No" will put the question back into the "Unanswered Questions" feed in Community, so it helps let others know the post still requires an answer.
