Conditional Formating

GM...I searched previous questions and was unable to find a solution. I feel stupid asking this question because it feels so simplistic but i can't figure out how to do it.

I want to use conditional formatting to highlight all rows in my grid for the current month/year. It's a simple fleet grid tracking inspections. I have an inspection expiration column that contains the month/year the inspection is due. I want the grid to highlight all rows for inspections due this month.

If inspection due is equal to current month/year, highlight color of my choice.

Can i do this in conditional formatting?

Yes, but you'd need to add a so-called helper column with a formula that could check a box when your conditions are true. You'd then use that in the Conditional Formatting rule.
