How to copy a row (using automation) to another sheet but NOT copy the children for that row
Hi, I'd like to use automation to copy a row to another sheet but NOT copy over the children for that row. Is this possible?
I currently use another automation in the destination sheet to move the Children (if Indent level is 3, move to another sheet) to a JUNK sheet that I clean up now and then. There's got to be a simpler way to just move a row to another sheet without the children for that row?
Any ideas?
Thanks

Hi @Jeana
I hope you're well and safe!
You could use cross-sheet formulas combined with either a VLOOKUP or INDEX/MATCH structure to connect the sheets, and when you update the source sheet, it will reflect on the destination sheet.
Another option would be to use so-called helper sheets. In short, copy the row to a helper sheet and then use my method described previously to get the values you need to another helper sheet and then copy/move the row from that sheet to the main destination sheet.
Would that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic week!

Thanks Andrée, I'll test that process out. Seems like there should be an easier way or an option in the Automation to copy/move Children. Probably need to add that to the wish list!
Have a good one!
