Tracking edits/editors to cell history?

I'm wondering if there's a way to create a formula to tally (via cell history) who is making edits to a column within a spreadsheet.

I am observing a lot of edits to a critical column of cells, which are clearly traceable when right-clicking on a cell history. My job (as a planner) is made very hard when anyone in our department can edit commitment dates, and I want to be able to factually show to the team, with real number and figures, the degree of editing that is occurring, and why this is a problem.

I'm hoping there's a way to create a COUNTIFS formula to track cell edits / editors. If I can visibly track the problem and present it as a metric, i'm hoping it might discourage the behavior.

    Hi @Tim Silvester

I hope you're well and safe!

    • You could use a Workflow combined with the Copy Row Action and a so-called helper sheet. When something changes in the column, the Workflow copies the row over to the helper sheet.

    Would that work/help?

    I hope that helps!
