Count of Cell Changes Formula
Is there a formula that I can apply to a column that will count the number of changes in a cell?

I hope you're well and safe!
Unfortunately, it's not possible now, but it's an excellent idea!
Please submit an Enhancement Request when you have a moment.
Here's a possible workaround or workarounds
- You could use a Workflow combined with the change cell Action and change it to a higher number each time.
- You could modify my example below.
Please have a look at my post below with a method I developed.

Would any of those options work/help?
I hope that helps!
Have a fantastic week & Happy New Year!

@Andrée Starå I like the suggestion of using an automation, but I am not sure how to get this to work? When I go to create the automation to change the cell value when a specific column value changes, it only give me the option to type in what that cell value should be? So I cannot get it to incrementally increase.

You need to add a condition for each that looks for the previous values.
When it should increase to 2, it has to be 1.
Make sense?

@Andrée Starå What do you mean a condition for each value? I don't know how many times the cell value will change so I would an infinite about of conditions?
-
Ok. Then I'd recommend a modified version of my second option instead.
Something like this.
- A so-called helper column to show the count
- A so-called helper sheet
- Workflow that copies the row to the helper sheet when there is a change in the cell.
- Cross-sheet formula counting the number of rows that match from the helper sheet.
Make sense?
Would that work/help?
