Can you block users from adding new lines after a certain number?

We are using a sheet to track candidates for a position. We need X number of candidates to Y positions. We're using a formatting trick to show when the target number has been exceeded but it would be nice to be able to limit the number.

Users would still need to edit the existing candidates.

Here's a possible workaround or workarounds

• You could show a message and maybe send an alert when the limit is reached
• You could also move the rows to another sheet if the limit is reached

Thanks for the suggested workarounds. It doesn't quite meet the need to preventing more entries but is more proactive than our format change. I'll give it a try.
