Does anyone ahs experience how to add a column that has a time field in it. I have now done it with 3 columns, one drop down 1 to 24 hours, on with 1 to 60 minutes and one combinding those two ito one filed with XX:YY. This is very confusing for the user. I rather want them to select the time from a specific time field.

    Hi @Hilbert Kok

I hope you're well and safe!

Unfortunately, Smartsheet doesn't have a Time Type Column, so it's not possible now, but it's an excellent idea!

Please submit an Enhancement Request when you have a moment.

Here's a possible workaround or workarounds

    • Another option would be that they enter the time as 11:04 or 1104, and then you can convert it if needed, and you could also add a message if they are not entering it correctly.

    Would that work/help?

    I hope that helps!

Be safe and have a fantastic week!

  • At the risk of being a troll... I've got to ask the question that I don't being seen on this same question over and over...

Did you guys not think that project management software, especially software that is paid accounts... would want to track time? I mean, the software is able to track dates. You actively promote project management as a key use for the software. I have seen people asking for this functionality for 2 years. This is an extremely function in Excel and Google Sheets.

Let's get this function taken care of.

@Chris Newton I logged a feature request for this today. I searched the community and found so many threads asking for this basic functionality going back to 2020. I don't have any real hope that it will be added. I don't understand how something so basic is missing, requested repeatedly, and still just ignored by the development team. I hope somebody is reading these comments and gets this one moving!

  • Adding my voice to the chorus. We badly need this feature for Smartsheet to continue to be useful for us. I agree that it seems odd that it wasn't included from the beginning. I'm sure there is a reason, but I can't think of one. I also submitted a feature request.

  • +1 this is a really basic function that we would use everyday.
A key functionality that should be on the prio list of devs
