Update Request not allowing field to update

When sending out an Update Request, I'm being told that the recipients are not always able to update the Completion Date. It is the child of a parent, dependencies are enabled but there are none for these line items, and none of the columns/rows are locked. Thoughts? Thank you!

End Dates in Project sheets can't be updated through an Update Request when dependencies are enabled; this is due to background dependency calculations that act as a sort of "formula" in that cell, even if the row has no Predecessors. The row uses the Start Date and Duration to calculate the End Date.

That said, because of this calculation, you can adjust the End Date through an Update Request by having your users adjust the Duration of the Task, which will automatically adjust the End date in the sheet.
