Copy PARENT cell data to CHILD CELL without deleting DATAMESH field links.
Ok, I have a challenge with formulas and data being overwritten.
I am trying to create a FILTER for my procurement teams to use. I ONLY want to show items where the PROCUREMENT COUNTRY is "CHINA". When I create that filter the CHILD rows do not show because the PROCUREMENT COUNTRY is "BLANK".
So I need to copy the PARENT cell data in this case "CHINA" to the CHILD CELL.
The challenge I have is that I use DATA MESH to fill the PARENT cell data.
When I create the formula "=PARENT()" in the CHILD row it deletes the DATA MESH cell link.
Any assistance for a workaround would be greatly appreciated.
I am on the ADVANCED platform so have tools available.

Hi @Geoff Baker
I hope you're well and safe!
Here's a possible workaround or workarounds
- Add a so-called helper column to reference the Parent and Children and use that for the Filter instead.
Would that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic week!

Okay, I understand the concept, so I created a "HIDE PROCUREMENT COUNTRY" column.
But when I reference the "PROCUREMENT COUNTRY" with "=(PROCUREMENT COUNTRY)@row" I am unsure of the reference for copying it to the CHILD row?
