How do I share a report without having to share the sheet it's drawn from?

Probably a stupid question, but Im really stuck here as I want people to update a sheet without allowing them access to all the info contained therein.🤔

Then you have three options. Edit. Four options.

• Premium App, Dynamic View
• Premium App, WorkApps
• I recently developed a (what I call), Dynamic View Light. It's pretty advanced, but in short, it's using cross-sheet formulas and INDEX/MATCH and a specific structure and method, so it's only possible to show data that should be available. I recently combined this with a structure for a client where they could add data that populate the main sheet, but it's not possible to edit the data.
• As Amber suggested, Update Requests.

Would any of those options work/help?

Would an Update Request work? You could customize the text using double brackets and provide whichever fields they need and leave out any that are private.

Hi @Amber Eakin I need users to update regularly throughout the day, how would you manage this, it seems a little messy, but Im open to suggestions, I'm at my wits end. cheers

@Venn Cannon You can set up an automated workflow to send Update Requests to people assigned to tasks at regular times during the day. You could have it contact them based on the project status so that it stops once the task is "completed" or no longer needs updates. Using Triggers and Conditions, it wouldn't be too messy!
