Is it still best practice to reference TODAY() from a single cell?
Hi,
I found this guide: https://www.smartsheet.com/sites/default/files/2019-10/S11_Optimize%20Sheets%20and%20Sol_RRaghu.pdf
It suggests using TODAY() in single cell (presumably I can use a field in the Summary) and then referencing that rather than proliferating the function across cells.
Is this still the case or has the code been reworked to make normal use of TODAY() efficient now?
thanks
Ed

Hi @CycleBagEd
I hope you're well and safe!
The best option, if possible, is to use the Column Formula feature, but it depends on your specific structure and use case.
Make sense?
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic week!

Thanks @Andrée Starå - ok, so we're ok with it being used in a column formula without it having to reference a "pre-calculated" version in a "holding cell" then?
That's a relief because I have it built into a bunch of column formulas.
While you're around - does SS calculate in browser?
thanks
