Automated moved cell function
hi.
I’ve been playing around with moved cell automation.
is there a way to only have the data only move. It’s moves all the colours and fills that are in the previous sheet across too. It’s kind of annoying and mucks up the colours in the new sheet
is there anything that I can do to send only data across.

I hope you're well and safe!
Here's a possible workaround or workarounds
You could use cross-sheet formulas combined with either a VLOOKUP or INDEX/MATCH structure to connect the sheets, and when you update the source sheet, it will reflect on the destination sheet.
- Another option would be to use so-called helper sheets. In short, copy the row to a helper sheet and then use my method described previously to get the values you need to another helper sheet, and then copy/move the row from that sheet to the main destination sheet.
Would that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic weekend!

Thanks
would the data always be linked to the helper sheet?
bascially what I’m trying to archive is a work flow that as the order goes through various parts of the company it moves from sheet to sheet. So when one department is done they check a box and it moves on. How would I structure the formula to achieve that in you workaround.
Thanks
Chris

You can utilize conditional formatting in the destination sheet in order to fix the font colors and cell fills on the newly arrived rows.

Hi Andree
Just wanting to follow up to see how this would work in a certain use case.
Orders get placed in smart sheet. how would i use index match to find values that don't exist yet like to watch a cell column and populate it another sheet as we add orders. when an order is finished it will move to an archive sheet. is this possible? I can create a loom recording if needed?
