Automate Sheet from Template

I have been trying to find a way and have been searching for the last few days, I need to create a sheet from a template then import some data from another sheet (Google/OneDrive) into it. I assume using the API would be the route to go but am unsure how to accomplish such a feat. If anyone has any useful information or has done this before please let me know, thank you.

If your plan has access to it, you can automatically import data from Google or OneDrive by using DataShuttle.

I looked into DataShuttle but it doesn't appear to want to import using a template, it wants to create a new sheet or import into an existing sheet either adding or overriding data which is what I'm trying to avoid.
