How can I get the start and end date as the primary updates and not duration

How can I get the start and end date as the primary updates and not duration. At the moment smartsheet forces me to enter the duration but I want the end date to be the defining factor to the duration.

You have dependencies enabled? Because a start date and end date should calculate the duration.

Now, it is also true that a start date and a duration will calculate end date, and an end date and duration will calculate the start date, but what you want should be happening.

Can you take some screen shots, or even a video showing this happening?
