Recurring tasks not showing on Gantt view

Hello, I created a recurring task (recurs weekly on Mondays). After saving data I expected to see tasks to show up weekly on Gantt and they are not. What am I doing wrong?

Hoping all is well with you!!

I created the task on the sheet, made the task 1d duration starting May 9, 2022. Then I went to Automation in the Smartsheet and created a workflow from Scratch. I wanted the task 'Item Description' date to show on Gantt (or even Calendar view). I only see the May 9th entry on the gantt.

@marymccollom as I see your recurring task will not create any tasks but sends an email (alert) which means there are no tasks to display in gantt or calendar view.

As Joachim mentioned, there aren't any tasks to show. How would you like it to work?

How can I set up recurring appointments on Gantt View? I have to download a report from a client's ERP on the 1st of every month. I need to show this on a Gantt chart for all the stakeholders to see it as a repeating milestone.
