Hi all - I have a project with several tasks that have discontiguous components. For example, in one case I have a monthly meeting that I want to note as a single task that starts no later than 1/1/17 and ends no sooner than 12/31/17, but will only consume 12 resource days. I know I could set up 12 tasks under an 'umbrella heading' but that is really a waste of space.

Any thoughts and help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Chris—

It appears that you're wanting both constraints (start no later than, ends no sooner than, etc) as well as work time to be assigned on a task level in a sheet.

Smartsheet doesn't have this type of functionality—when you have a moment, submit your ideas and use cases for these features via the Product Enhancement Request form under Quick links to the right.

You'll need to create multiple tasks, possibly putting lag days between them to accomplish this.
