Smartsheet automated alert using Outlook Mail Group email ID: HELP needed

We are setting up alerts via automation and using an Outlook Mail Group email ID (CSIHOpExTeam@iqvia.com). This is NOT sending emails to outlook like usual. Has anyone been able to get this to work? Do we need to have our Smartsheet Admin do anything on the backend?

We are doing this in case the person in charge of acting on the alerts changes, we won’t have to update the alert email in 300+ sheets.

@Lori Hight Is the alert sending emails at all? (Not sure what NOT sending as usual means.)

Two things we regularly do, to send alerts to "non-humans".

First, we make sure permissions are set at the right level:

If CSIHOpExTeam@iqvia.com isn't a SmartSheet user account then the automation will need relaxed security. Depending on the situation, this step is all that is needed.

Second, we create user accounts that have these emails as their account email. So a SmartSheet "contact" with a name like CSI Team and that email address might make it easier to share the sheet with the group email and also to alert the email address.

Either or both might be needed, just make sure you want to send alerts to the entire group.
