Cross sheet formula

I am new to Smartsheet and am struggling with a basic formula.

I am simply trying to multiply a value from in a specific cell from one sheet with a value in a specific cell from another sheet.

I have been able to get a result by using this formula. =$[2021 WP Year-End Forecast]1 * ({Project Costs - Cost - Labor OT (107215)}), however when I change the value in the 2nd sheet, the formula does not update the value in the first sheet.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

HOw exactly are you creating your cross sheet reference, and what exactly are you referencing?
