Getting Ownership, but the email of that person has been disabled - just not in SS

Hi, so I'm working with an organization that we need to change an owner of a sheet, but that person no longer works for them. She left abruptly, but we didn't find all of the things that needed to be transferred in time. Is there any way to make this transfer happen still?

If they are still listed as a user in the Smartsheet Account then you can have a system admin transfer all items at once.

Hi @Paul Newcome thank you for the quick response! What if the owner isn't a licensed user in your Org? But a former consultant that doesn't have access to that email anymore? Any thoughts?

Were they ever a licensed user in your Org?

@Paul Newcome Nope they were a consultant, so they were a licensed user from another Org.

If they were part of a different org and owned the sheets, then it is very possible that they took them with. If anyone is still shared to the sheets, you can go through the sharing options and request ownership.

@Paul Newcome Yes! But doesn't that user need to accept that transfer of ownership request? That's the problem I'm running into since we don't have access to that email and neither does that person. Any thoughts?

To add to Paul's excellent advice/answer.

As a last resort, you could try and drag everything out from the Workspace to your Sheets, and then you'll become the Owner.
