How do you add an email address in a form?

How do I add a hyperlink to an Outlook email address to the description section of a Form? I have tried 'mailto:example@xxxxx.com' but the hyperlink function automatically adds 'http://' in front of the link, leading to a blank page.

I ran into this issue just the other day on a Dashboard, where I wanted to link a contact name to her email address. Inexplicably, Smartsheet does not support "mailto:" links. So, the solution I found was to convert the person's email address to a URL ("http://www......") using a URL shortener, then pasting the URL into the dashboard. I imagine this will work for your form, too. My company has an internal URL shortening tool, so I don't have any security concern with this. But, if you use a commercial service, like bit [dot] ly, you may want to consider security.

@User251 - the requirements will vary with the URL shortener you use, but generally you enter this:

mailto:user@company.domain
