Percentage Increase/Decrease

Hi there, I've looked at some other answers in the community but none seem to work for me.

I'm trying to determine the % increase or decrease of values Year Over Year. Here's an example:

THIS YEAR, we have a sheet that shows $125,000 in revenue. This time last year on a separate sheet, we showed $225,000. How do I create a formula to calculate the difference in % increase/decrease?

THIS YEAR sheet has column Actual QTD

LAST YEAR sheet has column Actual QTD

Have you created a metrics sheet to pull the information from both sheets to then do a formula?

I haven't, no... I thought I could just pull values from each sheet in a formula?

Is it just the one cell you want to evaluate from the second sheet?

If so, you could create a cross-sheet reference that points just to that one cell! Then you can create your calculation between {this cell} and the one [in the sheet]@row

@Genevieve P. I have tried that yes, but it still gives me incorrect data. Can you perhaps tell me what formula to use to ensure I'm doing it correctly? You can use VALUE A and VALUE B as placeholders, and I can fill them in with my cell info.

No problem!

"Incorrect Data" sounds like your formula may not be able to read your numbers as numbers, but instead sees them as text (e.g. if the "$" sign was manually added instead of using cell formatting). Could that be possible?

Here's a simple formula I used, with {Value A of 20} selecting one cell in another sheet that has the number 20 in it.

If you're still getting an error, can you post the formula you're currently using so I can understand the math you'd like to achieve?

Thanks so much @Genevieve P. ! I wound up just copying the data and running an easy division formula instead. There were only a few lines from another sheet to reference, so it ended up being easier. Appreciate your help though as always!
