is there a way to mark one of the values in a list type column property as the default value ?

Unfortunately, it's not possible in the sheet, but it's an excellent idea!

Please submit this as a Product Feedback or Idea (If it hasn't been added already) when you have a moment.

Here's a possible workaround or workarounds

• Workflow that updates the cell with the value when it's added.

Unfortunately when you try to setup automation / workflow to default a drop list column which is 'symbol' it doesn't allow for this unless I am missing something. I went into automation and setup the criteria of when row added and Schedule Health column is blank then…. when I get to the part where I select the column and what value to set.. it doesn't give any of the drop list type symbol columns as options?
