Milestone Duration Not Calculating Correctly

When putting milestones into a project plan, the duration is calculating as "1d" instead of "0" like it should. I cannot figure out why this is happening. Can anyone please advise?

I can manually update the duration to 0, which will update the predecessors. However, we are hoping to avoid making our project managers to have to manually change the duration to 0 days. We had a small group of PM's that used Smartsheet, but that team was absorbed by a much bigger team with members brand new to Smartsheet.

I just learned a few seconds ago, the small group of PM's have always manually changed it in the past. Again, I am hoping there is a way that we can avoid this. It is industry standard that a milestone task has a Start and Finish date that are the same date with a duration of 0 days. So, truth be told, I am not sure why this isn't a default for Smartsheet.

Smartsheet does not have anything defined as a Milestone, so it is just a concept in project management, and hence if you consider a milestone to be a 0 duration event then you will need to update manually. Having said this would be nice if Smartsheet does allow to define and identify a task with 0 duration as a milestone in the project settings.

Yes, the way it works in Smartsheet is to change it to 0.
