How to Use SUMIF Function for Sheet Summary
Hello! I am trying to use smartsheet to support budget tracking. I'd like to summarize the amount spent and section by our spend category. So if my Cost Center Category is equal to "Paid Media" I would like a sum of all rows meeting this criteria.
So my range headings are Cost Center Category and Amount, my Criterion is that Cost Center Category="Paid Media"
Thanks all in advance for your help-- I've tried copying and pasting some other's formulas and have not been successful.

Sarah,
Post your formula as is, and I can take a look. That's a pretty simple sum. Likely you can use a has() or Contains() with the @cell operator in your criterion.

Hello and thank you for your help! I've come back to this and realized I need to use SUMIFS to separate by brand. Here is what I have that is not returning a valid answer
=SUMIFS(Amount:Amount, [Expense Category]:[Expense Category], "Misc Advertising", Brand:Brand, "Gemini Signage - US")

@sarahjuntunen You say it isn't returning a "valid answer". Does that mean the sum is wrong, or it is returning an error?

@Darren Mullen I was mistaken-- the formula is working as posted. Thanks for looking into this with me!
