Linked items from other Gantt mostly working and then suddenly they do not
Hello all,
A very peculiar problem. The link cell function is working nearly perfectly for me. I link to duration and start in another sheet, and then the finish data auto populated. But suddenly, on the bottom right hand corner of this image above, the Duration and Start dates do not automatically cause a finish date to appear. I have deleted all dependancies, I have checked and rechecked. Logged in and logged out, but still this issue remains. Any ideas please.
cheers
Matthijs

Is it possible that your Project Settings were adjusted? If Dependencies are not enabled, then the End Date won't auto-fill.
The other thing to check is the source data for the Duration column. I notice that the numbers are appearing on the Left side of the cell instead of the Right, which generally indicates that it's being read by Smartsheet as text instead of numerical.
How is this information being input in the source Duration column?
I added a quotation mark before the "3d" in the last row: '3d which made it appear on the left and meant the Finish date could not auto-fill. If your source sheet does not have a Duration column set within Project Settings, you'll want to ensure the day value is stored just as a number (3) instead of with the letter d next to it (3d).
Let me know if this helps!
Cheers,
Genevieve
