Use hours calculation

Is there anyway for me to use the Duration column independent of the Start and Finish columns? I want to put in how long an activity is taking along with using the Start and Finish columns separately. Right now, if one row has 2h and the next row has 2h in the duration column (with the start and finish columns being empty), when I try and SUM up the two rows I do not get 4 hours, only .50. What adjustments need to be made to simply calculate the hours?

Have you considered adding a multiplication to the end of your formula? What it's returning now is the number of days (.5). Multiply the result by 8.

.5 * 8 would equal 4

Result * 8 = hours
