Dashboard File Attachment

Hi...

I have attached a onedrive file to a Dashboard but users are receiving an Access Denied error. Is there another way to attach a document to a Dashboard so users can click and open.

Hi @dfortuna,

When you click Attachments, use the "Upload a file" option even if your file is on OneDrive. This way it will upload the file itself. You will be prompted to select a file via your computer's file browser. On the left side, select OneDrive and find your file to attach.

When you click Attachments, and select "OneDrive"; it basically uploads a link to the OneDrive file. This means people will need access/permissions to it via OneDrive in order to open or download it.

Thank you for the information. Is there a way around granting permissions to the OneDrive? This is a personal OneDrive account and I do not want to grant permissions to users.

No, I don't think there is, but you should be able to upload the file to Smartsheet instead, and then they would have access.

Thank you for the information. I tried to upload the document, however, it is a Word file with graphic images. I cannot get it to load all the information into Smartsheet. Are there any other ways to attach the file?

Not sure I follow! What happens?

The file has instructions for users with screenshots to follow the process. When I pulled into Smartsheet, it only took the text but not the graphic images.

You don't want to add it as an attachment but embed it in the Dashboard, correct?

Yes, I want to embed into the dashboard as I do not want to grant permissions to view the OneDrive document.

Hi. Is there any other recommendations? I'd like to attach a PDF document to the dashboard.
