Automate data source range within dashboard widgets on linear/line charts

Is there a way to automate this process? I have a report as well on my dashboard that goes into detailed statuses, but my leaders respond to trending data (especially if it goes negative).

Create a row report from the sheet you want to chart then chart the report. When charting from a sheet, the range(s) are static because you are selecting specific cells to chart. When charting a report, your only option is to chart the entire report which in turn means that new rows will be picked up as they are added to the report.
