Answer to a notification by email with attachement

Hello,

First, let me thank all the contributors of this space, I found a lot of answers on it... except one !

When I write a comment on a project plan, it sends automatically an email to all people I mentioned with @

Then, receipients can answer directy by email wihout connecting to Smartsheet.

BUT when they attach a file in their answer, I don't reveive the file in smarsheet, only their answer (text).

I assume there is a parameter somewhere as you can join a file in the conversation but from smartsheet.

Have you checked the automation settings in their you can set to allow attachments / file upload... this allows recipients to upload files via the email link ... However this only attaches to the file row, not in the conversation as such 😀

Unfortunately, In automation settings, I changed to "unrestricted" but it didn't work.

Also, I looked for creating an automation rule like : "if a file (or comment) has been added, then link the file and the comment (or the line)" but its not possible.

I'm lost :-(

2 questions:

On the base sheet does it not show a blue paperclip near the row number with the attached files ?
Have you asked someone to retry this after updating the permission settings?

I can add a file by clicking on the row paperclip but when I comment on a row and I reply to myself by email with a file, I revceive back the message but not the attachement

@Stacy Meadows I can join a file when I select the paperclip on the row.

But when I send a comment using "@" it send a email informing about a new comment.

Answering to this email with an attachement it add the answer on the thread but not the file
