Cell Linking Limitation
I'm using cell linking for data flow through to help automate a workflow. The "Create Link" button is no longer available in the cell linking menu. I'm no where near the limitation of 5000 cell links for a destination sheet.
Anyone else have this issue?

Not that I can verify.
Cell linking won't work to Predecessor or Start / End Date / Finish columns when Dependencies are on.
Once the Link from Cell in Other Sheet dialog is open, I don't know of any restrictions but there might be. Maybe view only privileges or something like that.

CHam - make sure you are linking cells that contain data. Blank cells cannot be linked.
Let me know if this does not solve the issue!

If the data in a linked cell is deleted does that break the cell link for any future input data?

I am having a similar issue. I am needing a report/sheet that shows a schedule of dates. This will be a compilation of dates from multiple sheets. I believe I have to use cell linking as opposed to a report because the data fields I need are listed in the rows so I can't identify them as criteria for the report. My issue with cell linking is since the dates I need are from individual project schedules they are the start dates and end dates of specific tasks (dependencies are turned on).
If I understand this thread correctly, I won't be able to link to those cells because dependencies are on? Any other ideas on a way to create this request since I can't use a report and it appears cell linking won't work?
