Has anyone experienced the check boxes randomly changing to date field (properties of column changing)?

No, I haven't. Depending on your account tier you could check the activity log and see if there are any clues to why the change happened. You could also check the cell history if there is something strange. If you don't find anything that could be the reason i would reach out to the Smartsheet support team.

I am the owner of a workspace that has multiple sheets and a dashboard. There are 3 Guests with Admin permissions for the whole workspace. They can edit the sheets, but not the dashboard. Is there a different type of permissions or some kind of limitations to dashboard editing for Guests?
