Smartsheet v Microsoft Project pros and cons

Hi all

I am tryigng to convince our project team that Smartsheet is the way forward rather than our plan which currently sits in Excel. However i have now been asked to compare Microsoft Project. Has anyone got a definitive list of pros and cons for both platforms.

The obvious one is the collaboration element of Smartsheet, i know there are many features to tap into but trying to do that on a short trial is going to be impossible so just looking at the basic plan, risk/issue/decisiom log, comms plan and minutes

Any suggestions would be most appreciated

The ease of us with SmartSheet compared to the training required to really understand how to use Project is a no brainer. my company has been using SmartSheet over a year now in many departments and countries and it requires a minimal amount of training to be up and running. If the choice is between migrating from Excel to either Smartsheet or MS Project, then Tony got the largest difference - ease of use by most users.

MS Project is difficult to master, but has more control over several aspects of project management.

But project management is more about communication than it is about schedules, so for most projects Smartsheet wins for me.
