Greetings,
I have two rows with multiple date type columns.
I need to added a conditional formatting where, if the date in row is greater than the date in other row, the cell with greater date needs to be highlighted.
Someone Kindly help.
Thank you
Hi,
Unfortunately, it's not possible at the moment to accomplish it without a helper column, but it's a great idea!
Please submit an Enhancement Request when you have a moment.
Can you maybe share some screenshots? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help.
Have a fantastic day!

Its actually quite simple. There are two tasks, Task A and Task B. Theoretically, Task B must start once Task A is finished. But sometimes Task B starts even before Task A starts. Also, Task A is a milestone i.e., it takes place only for one day.
I just need to conditionally format the start date cell of Task B (say highlight it) if it starts before Task A.
Happy to help!
You'd have to add a so-called helper column with a formula to show that task B starts before task A.
Would that work?
Could you please elaborate. It would be helpful.
Try something like this.
=IF(ISBLANK(B@row); ""; IF(A@row > B@row; "True"))
The same version but with the below changes for your and others convenience.
=IF(ISBLANK(B@row), "", IF(A@row > B@row, "True"))
Depending on your country you’ll need to exchange the comma to a period and the semi-colon to a comma.
Did it work and make sense?
Hope that helps!
The solution you have provided works. But I have more than 400 rows in each sheet. And the tasks are not equally spaced. So, is it possible to write an equation such that, if it encounters a blank cell in the previous cell, it has to move to another cell. and keep moving until it encounters a non empty cell.
Excellent!
How would you want to use the check for an empty cell and why? What's the use case?
Hello, I'm working through the writing formulas optional activity and in the 'Nested IF function - Progress Column' task it directs you to put in the following formula '=IF([% Complete]@row = 0, “Empty”)'. However, when I put this formula into the spreadsheet, '04a_Marketing Request Tracker - Formulas', I get an…
I have an automation that has a condition where I am looking at the column "LEA Interco Supporting Site(s)" and trying to find columns that have the value "Fort Loramie" in them. This works well when "Fort Loramie" is the first item listed in the cell, but it doesn't work when "Fort Loramie" is the second or third value in…
Have any of you created a Smartsheet that would show the savings for a project by the month? In other words, if I saved $1200 annually and the project ended in say March, then the savings would go $120 per month, Mar 2025-Feb 2026. I have done it on Excel sheets manually, but I think there should be a way to do it with…
