Hello smartsheet Community!
I have taken all of the eAcademy classes, but am having trouble passing the Product Certified User Exam. Do you have any suggestions on how I can be successful in the future?
Many thanks,
--Suzy
The exam is "open book". Utilize your resources. Refer back to the various pdf's from the classes. Search the community. Most importantly... Take your time. Even if it takes you a week to finish the exam, as long as you pass you're good to go. Best of luck to you.
Hi Suzy,
Paul is completely right. Take your time and remember, it is totally OK to check the community for tips.
For example, if you cannot find the solution for the right function for the Red-Yello-wGreen balls, it is totally OK to check the community to find a function for a similar challenge. Then adapt the function part for part too the specific challenge from the test.
Also double check in the practical exam (spreadsheet manipulation) that you really covered every point. For instance, I forgot to answer one line :-)
Have a wonderful day and good luck with the next test
Sebastian
Hi Paul,
I did not know you could take a part at a time. I spent an hour the first time and did utilize some of the resources. I just need to go more slowly.
Thanks for your comment!
Hi Sebastian,
Thanks for your comment. I only searched the help section of the smartsheet website. I did not think of checking the community. I was just taking the test at the end of the day. I need to remember to take a little bit at a time.
Hi @suzybrown76 and/or Fellow Community Members,
I just finished the eAcademy Learning courses offered by SmartSheets. I have a subscription purchase.
In your experience, as a subscriber, if you do not pass the first time, do you have to "re-purchase" the exam again? This affects how soon I attempt to take it.
Thank you!
@Anna Henson You are allowed to take each portion as many times as needed to pass. The only catch is that they roll out a new exam at the beginning of every year and the previous year's becomes unavailable. I do believe though that the paid subscription will allow you to take the next year's certification exam without extra cost incurred. I believe the way it works is that you are paying for the E-Academy and not necessarily the certification exam. So since the exam is part of the E-Academy, the cost is included in your subscription.
@Genevieve P and @Andrée Starå Do you have any insight into this?
@Anna Henson
Paul is correct! If you have a subscription to the e-Academy, then there is no cost to re-take the exam.
Here, I found an FAQ article that specifies that you can take the exam as many times as needed: https://help.smartsheet.com/articles/2478841-smartsheet-certification-faq
@Genevieve P Excellent! I just wasn't sure how it would work when the new one rolls out at the beginning of the year. I suspected it would still be included in the cost of the subscription, but I wanted to verify. Thanks!
Hmm... yes it would depend more on if your subscription is still valid than if it's a new exam. You will need to choose the correct year, after the new year's exam rolls out, but as long as your company's subscription hasn't ended you can choose the new year instead of the last without any additional cost.
@Anna Henson if you have any more questions, you may want to reach out to the certification team directly, using the email address at the bottom of this page: https://help.smartsheet.com/learning-track/getting-started-training/certification
Have any of you created a Smartsheet that would show the savings for a project by the month? In other words, if I saved $1200 annually and the project ended in say March, then the savings would go $120 per month, Mar 2025-Feb 2026. I have done it on Excel sheets manually, but I think there should be a way to do it with…
Hello team! Hope you all are having a wonderful holiday season. I am trying to set up an automation that will send an email reminder one time when Next Update Date = 60 days, then another automation at 30d, etc. The key is I only want it to send the reminder one time when Next Update threshold is reached. Is this possible?…
Has anyone found a workaround for sharing Smartsheet reports externally without giving access to internal data? I currently have to download the data and transfer it onto excel to create a pivot table for our client and I want to find an easier way to do so. I also already create a dashboard for our client, but I wanted…
