Replace Cell with the Value of a formula
A common workflow for me while preparing data, is to use a formula to setup some cells and then to copy and paste the Values back into the same cells.
Excel allows you to copy, but to paste just the values. (NOT the formulas). Can this be done in smartsheet?

Hi,
Yes. Copy the cell and then right click and choose "Paste Special" (CMD+Shift+V on Mac) and choose "Values"
Would that work for you?
I hope this helps you!

Is there any way to automate this? Such as having another column that equals the result? Or a formula additive that would drop the function and just retain the value? I am looking to keep daily results but crews change daily so my results are changing by the day.
Let me know,

The only way I have found to automatically capture data statically that was generated by a formula is by using either a Move or Copy Row Automation.

The third-party service, Zapier, could be an excellent option for this scenario.
Is that an option for you?
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic week!

this.
IF you want the row to stay on the current sheet but still paste values automatically, I would suggest moving it to a helper sheet. Moving rows will automatically paste as values (works for cell linked data as well!) BUT it will also keep links intact. Then you have automation on the helper sheet to simply move it back. The only caveat here would be that the row will likely not move back to where it was and would instead appear at the top or bottom of the sheet. Likely a re-sort would fix this, if needed.
I employed this strategy for an Archiving system. We have many cell links and formulas in a sheet with over 200 columns (contract processing, grueling, horrible work really) and the data is incredibly important for regulatory compliance. In the past everyone had been manually pasting as values across the row and then manually moving it... I simply identified a trigger and then used the automation to move the row to an archive sheet and the rest is taken care of automatically.
