Status check option

I have a sheet inbuilt with a form where in users submit request (who get an unique request ID for their submission) for certain task/deliverable that are fulfilled by my team. We use this sheet for the case/incident management purpose. One of the ask from our management is to have an option for users to check status of their submission by keying in their request ID#. Do we have an option in smartsheet like a search field wherein users could check for their submission any time of the day to know the current status?

You could create another sheet "Request Status" and then create a form on this sheet that captures the ID and the user's email address. Then you can have another column that isn't included on the form that uses a cross sheet reference to automatically pull the status from the working sheet. Finally you can have an Automation set up to send that data to the user based on the Status field being populated and being sent to the email captured in the request form.

Can you share how the columns are structured so that the user submitting the request get the Request ID#?

I have unique Work Order ID for each row and for each ID multiple user can request for the stats. how should I setup the sheet in that case?
