Hi there,
Do you know if the Live Data Connector by smartsheet, can be used to automatically download Smartsheets to excel?
Or is there another way to auto download Smartsheets to excel?
Anyone, Please assist.

Hi @A Rose,
The Smartsheet Live Data Connector can be used to read data from Smartsheet and push it into external applications like Excel. For more information on the various ways to integrate the two applications in this way, checkout the Excel section of the Live Data Connector User Guide.
There isn't currently an auto-export feature built into Smartsheet but feel free to submit a Product Enhancement Request to see about getting this considered as a possibility for future development.
Thanks!

Hi @A Rose
You could set up a recurring delivery of the sheet/report as an excel file.
Would that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic week!

That's helpful!
It's almost as good as auto export sheets to excel, as i can setup rexurring email exports. Perfect.
Thank you!

I realize this thread is a few years old, but curious if your auto-send via Excel has issues with it not displaying correctly in Excel?
I've raised this issue to Smartsheet, and have basically been told that the formatting issue that is persistent from Smartsheet to Excel via the auto-send feature is not a problem, per se, but would fall under the product enhancement category.
Sadly, this is a very disheartening response, as the feature auto-sends just like my sheet/report appears if I send via PDF. Doing so via Excel it doesn't export date fields or wrapped columns correctly, thus the date field is just text and all columns are sized the same. See screenshot below.
If I simply export via Excel, all data and formatting remain in place.
Off I go to submit the enhancement request... :(
