How do I move the start date of a project on gantt chart so that tasks move back accordingly?

As long as you have your predecessors established, anything that follows should move accordingly.

Thanks. If I try to move one task with predecessors it shows a message saying these will be lost if I move the task. Is there a way to just move the entire start date pushing all tasks and predecessors back in one go?

Hmm... Is it just removing the predecessors for the row that you are changing, or is it trying to remove ALL of them even for the tasks that follow?

Just the one I'm trying to move. Was really hoping to be able to just shift everything back in one go.

Are you moving something in the middle of the project?

@h1pst3r88 So if you were to move the start date on row two, you would expect the end date of row 1 to also move?

The problem with that though is how is Smartsheet supposed to know your intention? There are different reasons for moving a date. Each of those have different outcomes.

The question was how to move the entire project forward.
For example project suppose to start on 1 May and all project task are related to date 1 May. For example;
Demolition starting 2 May and duration is 4 Days
Electrician start 7 May and duration 10 Days
Plumbers start 12 May and duration 12 Days
+ 100 other rows.
But if the job will be postponed and let's say start on 3 June the question is how to move entire project to start from that day without changing it manually.

This would be done by setting up the predecessor relationships and then adjusting the start date of the first task.
