How do I add the attachment column to my smartsheet? I can attach items but the paper clip icon does not appear in the left hand side.
Hi Devin,
It sounds to me that you've attached items to the sheet and not the rows in the sheet. When you attach to the rows, you will see the paperclip icon.
I hope this helps you!

You are correct, thank you
Happy to help!
Hi Andree - I am having the same issue. I did attach a file to a specific row, and i can see it if i right click on the row, but the attachment column is not there, so others will not see the paper clip and probably would not realize there is an attachment on that row.
Hi Sam,
Can you share some screenshots? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, andree@getdone.se)
Hope that helps!
Have a fantastic weekend!

I was able to see this a few weeks ago and now can no longer see the attachment column. There isn't anything i can unhide. Is there a setting i'm missing?
What are your permissions on the sheet? Are the attachments on the sheet or on the rows themselves?
Hi Penny,
Have a fantastic day!
Hi. I'm having the same issue. Attachments are attached to rows (not the sheet), but the column "Attachments" is just not there. There's no icons showing if a row has attachments or not.
Hi,
@ADM
Try to right-click on the Column Name r and select Unhide All Columns. (see below)
Did that work?
I hope that helps!

Hi I'm having the same issue. I am the owner of the sheet and the person that uploaded the attachments.
In other sheets I have the paper clip appears on the left but not in this one.
I have attached screenshots of the sheet - nothing is hidden and attachments added to specific row.
Am I missing something obvious here?
Any help would be appreciated
@Rhian Elliott I assume that in your first screenshot you have right clicked on one of the informational column headers (comments, etc.)?
If that is the case and there is no option to unhide all columns, you may need to reach out to support.
Hi @Rhian Elliott
Can you confirm you are scrolled all the way over to the left? In your screen capture the comments column looks a little thinner than usual, so I wonder if the edge of the sheet is just currently not visible and you need to scroll over.
I would also check your zoom settings (a zoom level below 90% is not currently supported in any browser, see: Best Practices for Browser Zoom), and if that hasn't helped, potentially try accessing the same sheet from a different browser.
Cheers!
Genevieve
I had a same problem this morning. To solve the problem, hold shift key on your keyboard and try to scroll your screen using a mouse scroll wheel. Now, it will move your sheet from left to right / right to left and you can see your attachment icon.
Hello,
I had previously purposely deleted that column.
Is there a way to bring it back?
Thank you,
Tia
Its very frustrating when you are adding multiple columns and having to use the slide bar to move to the end and then click the 3 dots and add another column. Seems there has to be an easier more productive way.
Hello, I am using an Appsheet app to update a Smartsheet 'metadata' sheet with a status. I have various other sheets that will then be updated based on unique ID's as their status changes on the metadata sheet. Since Smartsheet cannot run a Workflow on cell's changed with cross-sheet references, I have created a "helper"…
