I have seen posts going back for several years including one where a smartsheet employee claims it would be implemented later that year. That was 5 years ago. Why has auto sorting not been implemented yet?

I have a sheet that we use as an out of office calendar. When people submit entries they can either be added to the bottom or the top. We want the sheet to automatically sort the sheet by the start date column. People have been asking for this for years.

I'm assuming you have tried creating a report with all columns needed and sorted by start date column, then display as calendar?

This would auto sort any new entries to your sheet whether they are on top or bottom. Reports have become even more powerful recently with new grouping features.

We don't want to use a report. We just want the sheet to auto sort. I should not need a sheet and a report just to see one sheet default sorted by date. It is a very simple feature being requested for years.
