When a staff member joins our team or leaves our team it would be amazing to be able to bulk share reports and Smartsheets with them.

if you are using work apps you can just add them to a role and easily share whatever you need to with that role.
Thank you for your message, no we don't use Work Apps as we are not on that plan.

Thank you for your suggestion and I think it sounds like it might be the solution.
I have created a group but cannot find how to share with a group.
Any help would be gratefully received.

In the Sharing menu of, for example, a Sheet or a Workspace, you can add the Workgroup, and then all current and future people would automatically get the same access. (see below)

Groups are great but it would be nice to be able to share that group with multiple sheets, workspaces, etc. at a time rather than having to go to each item and share, then the next item and share. In browse you can check multiple items with a checkbox so it would be nice if you could check the items and then bulk share people, groups, etc. at one time.
