Changing Duration cell based on specific dropdown from Status at row
Hello,
I'm trying to create some type of function that performs the following:
- Status dropdown has "Not Started, In Progress, Complete, Exempt"
- Status at row is selected as "Exempt"
- When status at row is "Exempt", the duration at row will change to 0
My goal is when someone selects the "Exempt" option in the status dropdown that the duration for that row changes to 0.
Is this possible with an IF function or say an automation workflow?
Thanks!

I've encountered this issue as well.
Unfortunately, I do not think it is possible to use formulas or workflows to update cells in a Duration or Predecessor column unless dependencies are turned OFF. With dependencies turned off, the Duration and Predecessor columns become Text/Number columns, but they will not automatically update your other tasks/items on your sheet.
I'd submit an enhancement request for this. Best of luck!

Thats exactly what I came across when trying to create IF formulas for the duration column. Glad someone else out there was thinking the same thing lol

Hello,
Have you guys found a workaround with this? Or you just go and edit manually each time?
Thanks
