Can you use Conditional Formatting on a single cell in Smartsheet?

I am trying to set up a Conditional Format on only 1 cell in a Smartsheet. I can easily do this on a Row or a Column but I only want it to apply to one cell (eg. if this cell is not greater than $10000, Make it Red, If it is greater than, make it Green). I see no way to do this on a single cell and it highlights all the numbers in the entire column.

Hope I am just missing something obvious. Anyone know?

Yes, you can, but you have to either add conditions to the rule or add a so-called helper column to indicate which row it's in.

@Andrée Starå, I am trying to figure out the same thing? I want the individual cell showing the column total to change to blue if it's below 80% or to red if it's over 100%. I don't want the whole row or the whole column to turn the color. The conditional formatting wants to change all cells in the column the the color, or the whole row to the color if the condition is met in one cell. That's not helpful for highlighting specific totals. I read through quite a few community threads dating back years. People asking for a solution. Any thoughts?

Unfortunately, it changes all cell values to the color. I only want the total to show as blue if it meets the criteria, not all the individual cells above the total.

Ah ok. You'd need to add a condition to the rule so it only triggers for the row with the total.

That worked, thanks! Now I just need to create 80 conditional formatting rules - 2 per 40 columns. I don't see a way around that.

Yes, you'd have to create all those at the moment, but you can duplicate and change a previous one to simplify it.
