How to show time when a box is checked?

I have a basic work ticket sheet setup (from a template), and when someone submits the form, it records the created date AND time without issue. But i also have a "resolved date" column, and all i want that to do is record the date AND time when i change the dropdown in "ticket status" to resolved.

This seems like it should be a very basic ability, but for some reason i cant get any date columns (other than created date) to show a time at all. In another thread someone mentioned a formula for time, but i cant figure out how to apply that in this situation: =[Due Date]@row + ""

That seems awfully complicated--does Smartsheet not have an ability to record time? They must if they are able to record the created on time, so im not sure why they cant have it for other columns. I really just want something as simple as "box was checked at 4:30 pm". Thats all i need. I dont need it to calculate anything or reference anything, i just need the approximate time i checked the box.

Unfortunately, there isn't a "Time feature" at the moment built-in, so a workaround, using my method, the Smartsheet API, or a 3rd-party integration, is required.

Please submit this as a Product Feedback or Idea (If it hasn't been added already) when you have a moment.

Ok, for now it looks like just using "modified date" will at least record the exact time i last changed something in the row, that will have to work for now.

It just really blows my mind, that they dont have something as simple as recording the time as an option when creating workflows, etc, especially when they are already able to pull the time for other columns. I feel like this should be so simple--do something to a column, show the time that happened in another column--done.

I agree that this should be a feature. If you can right click on that cell and view the cell history that has a time stamp and shows who made the change (and all other changes ever made to that cell) then that information is already recorded somewhere. Why not just allow that saved information to be put in another column.

Have you tried the automation workflow "when triggered" then select the status column, choose to have it trigger only when that field = resolved (or whatever other terminology you like to use), then select "Record a Date" and choose the Date Column you wish to record it in. It should record the date and time if that cell is formatted to include the time.

I did try that first, but it only enters the date, and not the time. How do you format it to include the time?
