Am I able to import Excel data to a SmartSheet with existing data?

I have a SmartSheet that I need to add to. I am looking to import data from an Excel file to my existing SmartSheet that already has data in it but I'm not finding a way to do this.

When I upload the Excel file it uploads as its own new SmartSheet rather than adding to the one I want it to add to.

Can anyone help me understand the limitations or workarounds for this scenario?

Hi,

For more advanced imports there is a module Data Shuttle. (Link: Data Shuttle | Smartsheet).

It is advanced module so you need an additional license for that. But usage is quite simple.

To add to Beata's excellent advice/answer.

Another option is what I sometimes do in my client solutions. Create an import sheet to which you paste or move the data, and then it's automatically added to the correct sheet(s).

Thank you for your replies. I don't know that I'll be able to get the data shuttle license paid for but I'll try the copy and paste method. I'd tried the copy and paste but it won't paste, I'm checking in to my SS license to make sure I have that capability.
