Send email to a person in a column/cell when a cell status changes?

When someone changes a cell to a certain dropdown option in Column 1, I would like it to send an email alert to the person listed in Column 2. Is this possible?

Hey @mclyburn5,

Yes this is possible with Automation. In a new workflow, make the trigger be the column that is being changed:

Then, choose the "Add Condition" block, then choose the column/option you want it to be selected:

Finally choose the "Alert" block, choose "Send to Contacts in Cell", then choose the appropriate Contact column:

I highly recommend you work through the "Automating Your Workflows" Self-Paced Course, as that will provide more guidance on creating straightforward automations like this one, as well as more complex ones.

Yes it's possible.

First make sure Column 2 has properties of a contact list and save.
You can find the properties by clicking the 3 dots on the column header:

Then click on the Automation tab above your sheet
Create workflow from scratch.

Then select the following:
