Hi Community!

Smartsheet forms are now more discoverable as they are now listed under the sheet in the workspace panel, allowing you to perform common actions, like opening, editing, or copying the link for a form. And switching between view and edit mode is now easier via the navigation bar in the forms experience.

These enhancements are available for Trial, Pro, Business and Enterprise plans.

    Hi @Jason DelValle

I love the new enhancement. I just posted a discussion as I am wondering if it is possible to have the option to turn it off. I am speaking as a workspace Owner. I would like to be able to turn it off for some sheets, especially the sheets that have a lot of users.

Also, I don't have that option on my desktop App. My team see it on the web version but I don't see it on the desktop App.

    Best regards,

  • I am subscribed to the enhancements - but this did not get sent out. It's a good feature - but caused me an issue because I didn't know that the link provided in the navigation was different from the one on the actual form. Calling into support took almost an hour to track down the information.

Plus - that music on hold??? When can that be changed - or an option given to NOT have music on hold. Listening to a trumpet via a phone speaker is HORRIFIC!

  • Hi @jacob.alabi, thank you for your helpful feedback! Right now, it's not possible to turn this feature off at the sheet level, but I'll definitely bring it up with the team for consideration.

As for your other question—yes, the feature is intended to work in the desktop app. Since we just released, it might take a little time for the feature to appear. If it's not showing up by tomorrow, please let me know.

@isa_altium I am sorry to hear about your experience! We are aware of the URL link difference and actively working on it. We truly appreciate your feedback and are working on getting it changed as soon as possible.

    Hi @Selin Esener,

Thanks for the quick update. Please bring it up, it would be nice if it can be optional as against default.

I now see it on the desktop app. Thanks for that update as well.

I however don't have my searchbox (top right) anymore. I notice it this morning when I logged on. I hope it would return and that search bar is a life saver in terms of time to open a new sheet or looking for data acroos all workspaces.

    Hi @Jason DelValle ,

Is this a global enhancement or region specific?

I ask as I don't see it in either the desktop app or the browser version.

    I'm in Australia.

    Thanks

@PM_Reeves, it's currently available in the EU and US, and we're working on rolling it out in Australia (will keep you posted!).

This did bring another change I noticed. If your in the browse view, "Staring" a workspace is gone. You have to go into an asset, open the workspace panel. Then you can star it.

I am sure this will also be fixed with the next release.

@Joe Goetschel The stars are in mine.

@Jason DelValle I second the request to be able to turn this off. I have solutions built where users are supposed to be using prepopulated forms generated by a formula. The navigation pane has already created challenges in organization and data management. Having the form show in the navigation pane is just one more thing that they should not be clicking on.

  • Jason DelValle, great new feature; however, Dashboards still do not seem recognize the form as a separate Smartsheet object. Do you know if this feature will be added at some point? I am trying to avoid hard coding a link for Control Center.

Love it!! I have wanted this for a while.. now you can truly see all your Smartsheet assets in one place… are you able to go into Form editor directly from this view? Or only to the usable form itself?

Does this only show active forms? I have a couple sheets with forms but they are inactive and I'm not seeing them in the workspace panel.

    Thanks, Peggy

  • Hi @Jeff Reichman, we are actively working on forms in dashboard relinking.

  • @NickStaffordPM, thank you for your feedback! You can open the form by clicking on it within the workspace under the associated sheet. Once the form is open, if you have the necessary permissions, you can click on the edit icon in the top toolbar to enter the builder/editor mode.

@Peggy Parchert Yes, this list only includes active forms. Would you prefer to have inactive forms included as well in the workspace panel (in addition to the sheet forms manager)? We would love to hear more of your thoughts on this.
